Smell-a-like perfume
Fidji Perfume by Guy Laroche, Fidji, introduced in 1966, was the first women’s perfume launched by fashion designer Guy Laroche . It was created by perfumer Josephine Catapano and named after the Fiji Islands in the south Pacific. Top notes include hyacinth, galbanum, and lemon, giving a fresh initial scent. Carnation, jasmine, and Bulgarian rose are some of the notes that make up the heart for a floral sensation. Base notes include sandalwood, balsam, patchouli, musk, and oakmoss. This is an excellent choice for an everyday fragrance as it is suitable for a formal occasion or a regular day at the office.
Guy Laroche was a French-born fashion designer who got his start designing hats. He moved to the United States in 1955 to study the intricacies of clothing manufacturing. When he returned to France in 1957, he started his own clothing label. In 1966, Laroche launched his first perfume, Fidji for women. The Laroche perfume line remains successful to this day.
